I omitted that wide angle lenses are adequate for projections and small prints, but for the enormous prints that I often make, the panoramas created in PP are far better.

You are correct this is the trip of a lifetime. I went in March 2017 and wish I could go again. Of the thousands of images I took 135 were keepers in my opinion. When I go back over them most were shot at 55mm. Here are a few of my favorites.

Mike, I appreciate your reply. I'm not big with PP work so would like to get my images without it. With the 5D4, I plan to shot some videos and bring a mike for better audio.

It sounds like you didn't use a lens wider than 24 mm. I have the 16-35 so I'll bring it. Is changing lenses on the continent a viable option? Many blogs recommend against it. Thanks.

I carried two cameras so that I wouldn't have to change lenses often. However I did add or remove the 1.4 extender to the 100-400 occasionally with no problems. It's always easy on the big boat, and usually easy ashore, but inadvisable on the Zodiacs due to both crowding and seawater spray.

The trip is less than a week away and I "pulled the trigger" and bought the canon 11-24.
From B&H. I packed my carry-on backpack and just under 17 pounds with that UWA lense, the 24-70, the 100-400, 5D3 and 5D4. I have my 70-200 in my personal item bag and have my monopod and extender in my checked luggage. Probably too many lenses but hate to use my 100-400 for shots that my 70-200 f2.8 can get with better bokeh. I'll report back to the group when I get back.
