Received an email today from ON 1 touting what to find in the new version 2019 coming, for only $79 upgrade.
Let's see I bought the 2017 version and the upgraded to 2018. I will continue to use what I have but no more paid updates to them, not at those prices.
How do you all feel?

When I get upgrades to software, I look at what the new features are, and decide if they are worth the money.

Just like when Adobe sold a perpetual license, I upgrade software every two or three cycles unless the new version has some new "must have feature". Many folks feel they need the latest of everything which is what makes Adobe's subscription plan so successful. I still use PS CS-5 for some things. It still works as well as it did when CS-6 replaced it.

As long as On1 continues to give me the option when to upgrade without losing any functionality that I already paid for, I have no problem.
