When we lived in Albuquerque, we often had visitors for the balloon festival during the first week of October. It was the perfect time to watch the balloons in the morning, then go half way up Santa Fe mountain to a huge golden aspen grove for a picnic.

Pretty! Down here in the southwest corner things aren't that far along, but the color is starting to happen. It's my favorite time of year.
