Caught these two young bucks trying each other out behind our house. Unfortunately they were in tall grass so the sharpness/detail suffered. The deer here do not seem to have the magnificent racks that deer in other areas have, but its what we have. It has been suggested that the better deer get cropped during hunting season. Perhaps. That being said, studies on white tail deer in the east show that the quality of the bucks depends on quality of the does, not the quality of the buck.

I really like this image. I feel the level (or lack of) sharpness and detail sets the mood by making the viewer a 'voyeur' of this intense interaction.

My only wish is for the removal of the light colored broken branch located at five o'clock. It interferes with my inclusion in the scene. Without it the vertical tree framing draws me into the scene.
