No question, but the way things have been going there probably aren't too many "pure souls without sin!" On the other hand, my point was to note that a popular defense it to point a finger somewhere else in an attempt to alleviate the temporary discomfort.

Politics are quickly becoming a blood sport in this country, t***h and reason became casualties a long time ago, I am not so sure that you and I would agree as to how and why this has come to be.

FACTS ARE FACTS you Russian t*****r! Choke on THESE FACTS!

Three politicians (Newt Gingrich, Bob Livingston, and Dennis Hastert) served or nearly served as Speakers of the House during the impeachment of President Bill Clinton; all three men experienced public sex scandals of varying severity.

It was a sex scandal that put Mr. Hastert into the top House job in the first place. Robert Livingston, a Louisiana Republican in line to replace Newt Gingrich, was forced to step aside after accusations of marital infidelity as the House impeached President Bill Clinton in 1998. Republicans settled on Mr. Hastert, then a deputy to the feared House whip, Tom DeLay of Texas, a figure so polarizing he could not move into the speaker’s chair.

Hours before Mr. Clinton was impeached for his efforts to cover up his affair with Ms. Lewinsky, [then-incoming Speaker of the House, Robert L.] Livingston, who had been chosen to succeed Mr. Gingrich, shocked the House by announcing he would leave Congress because of revelations of his own adulterous affairs.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group.

“The honest answer is yes,” Gingrich, a potential 2008 Republican p**********l candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson to be aired Friday, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press. “There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There’s certainly times when I’ve fallen short of God’s standards.”

I think that some common ground would be relatively easy to agree upon if some political neutrality could be exercised and that is most probably the biggest conundrum. Therein lies at least some of the basis for national discord. We have nowhere to go but downward. Of course a good war or catastrophic event could create at least some semblance of nationalism.
