Wow, Donna, these are beautiful. I don't know how you do it but you always come through no matter what lens you are using. These are wonderful even without the downloads!

Thank you so much, my sweet friend, for your lovely comment. I'm glad you enjoyed this cute little buzzer. They're usually way to fast for me, but this one hovered at each bloom a bit longer than usual.

What a buzzing beauty he was! Canon 70-200 and same settings for all: 1/4000sec, f3.50, iso800. Please click once on first (or double download) and download 2nd and 3rd. Anyone interested in the Hummingbird Clearwing Moth might like checking out this link.

Beautiful shots. The first time I saw one I was sure it was a hummingbird

Thank you so much, Tazzy. I thought the very same thing when I saw my first one hovering around some honeysuckle one evening. It even sounded like a hummingbird!

Fantastic captures Donna, the only one I ever got was a bit blurred but I did not know there was a lizard eyeing it up for lunch till I put it on the computer...

Val, every single one I've ever shot before this one was more than just blurred. More like a blob. lol This one stayed with the same stand of wildflowers for some reason, and didn't flit all over the place. Every time I see one I think it's a hummingbird. I guess these make a fine meal for lizards and even praying mantises, and mantises even go after hummingbirds. I just hope they don't catch them..and I hope that lizard you saw didn't enjoy hummingbird moth for lunch after you left!

Thank you so much, Debbie! I like the wings too and hardly ever get to see them except in a blur.
