My name is Levi. My goal is to show appreciation.
Hey! I found this forum while doing quick searches for composition guidelines. Prior to joining this forum, I had no way of getting knowledge from the community. The thought actually never crossed my mind. I was so caught up in getting myself started in photography that I had unknowingly limited myself to learning by directly searching topics. Mainly how to gear and setup for macrophotography.
I only ever started photography to get an easy fine arts credit for highschool. I'd never liked art. Had no passion for it. I had not developed any drawing, painting, sculpting, etc. Photography seemed like an easy out. And it was but because I enjoyed it so much. All I could find interest in were small details. I found myself appreciating the small details in everything. I never cared to really look at something but when I did, I found that there's beauty in the most mundane things and that amazed me. I continued to take macro shots even with the poor starter camera I had (Nikon COOLPIX S9300. I think). Recently I've upgraded to a Nikon D5600 and I've been loving it. Especially the ability to manually focus. Even without a macro lens I've been able to be satisfied with shots I've taken and I'd like to keep improving. Hopefully I have the ability to do that with this community.
My goal is to capture, brilliantly, small details or scenes that I find value in with no more post processing than necesarry to imitate what I saw. If anyone sees anything I post, I happily welcome criticism at any time!

Welcome to the forum. I could be critical of your first posting but that would be very unsociable of me, something I've been accused of in the past. Anywho, my sincere advice to you is to get some books on digital photography and macro photography. I have books on both topics and when I want to dable or learn something new, I get out a book, do a little reading, then it's time to break out the the camera. Again, welcome aboard...
Thanks for looking out. I could have used this all much earlier.
Welcome to the forum. Have fun.
