I heard about them. Maybe that camera is set-up to do a time-lapse of them moving.

Yes, these are the sailing stones on the Racetrack Playa in Death Valley. At the end of a 2 hr 4 wheel only drive once pavement ends.
And, a timelapse would be pretty boring, since the stones only move if: 1) It rained and then there was a freeze an 2) the wind is of the correct strength and direction.
That long rock trail may be the result of 10 years of movement. That and the playa surface is so fragile when wet that the mud trails you'd leave will get you run over by the Park Service
when they find out.

By the looks of the surface I'm thinking one of the Mars rovers left it by mistake.
