I like this, the lighting is really effective, composition simple but appealing.

JS, this is a nice composition. I like the expression and the shooting angle. The light and shadows do a good job of showing her off. I like her side glance and the red lipstick adds a little color without being too overpowering.
It could stand as is but if it was mine, here's what I would change.
The color is way off. I'd take out a lot of orange. I would probably crop off her crotch, it doesn't add to the composition except to be a distraction to an otherwise very attractive girl. I would tilt her more to the left to add a bit more drama.
The white light highlights on her arm/pearls are close to blown. Tone then down a touch and maybe add more contrast overall to give it more pop since I find the overall look a little flat.
If you can't correct the color, try it in B&W.

I think you're onto something. If you cropped just low enough to get her complete hand, the bottom of the image would be teasingly above a very dramatic spot in her anatomy.

I 3rd the crop just a sliver below her fingernails. In nudes I don't like having the "vag" the first thing I notice. Also, as mentioned, tint the skin more natural and you have a great photo here.

For those objecting to the prominence of the vagina and suggesting cropping it out, whatever happened to "airbrushing" it away? That should be quite easy with PP tools. I have this feeling that had the image been cropped just below the fingernails there would be a bunch of requests to lower the crop line to reveal the "dramatic spot" of her anatomy.

For me I suggested the crop to make it a BETTER photo in my OPINION. And it would still be basically a "real" photo. To PS would possibly make it look artificial, and probably no better in MY opinion. As for those who ask to specifically see those parts I will leave it to them to explain their motives.

I actually agree with you on it maybe being a better photo with the crop as it perhaps leaves the viewer wanting more, kinda like sweater girls vs exposed breasts. I merely offered the PP as a suggestion to maintain the larger original framing and remove the objection of the glowing mons veneris.

jsmangis I am amazed at anti-labia fixation of many men. Next only circumcised women will be allowed!! I was a bottle baby, perhaps that is why I do not derive my pleasures by suckeling women. Jessica has a well-formed woman's body in every aspect and she is surely the envy of many women at the gym. Personally, I love labia as much as Kavanaugh loves beer.

The areas of the female (or male) form that we individually fix upon certainly run the gamut. If you grow up in a culture where everything is covered you're probably likely to find more areas sexually stimulating. The male and female genitalia seem to be the last, universal holdouts. Unless you specifically go to a nudist beach or club, you'll not see them in public.

I can tell you that it's amazing how quickly you adapt to nudity. If I'm standing in a pool with a beautiful and well endowed woman in a bikini, I'll find my attention wandering to her breasts incessantly. If she's topless, I'll certainly notice her breasts but they won't be the eye magnet they were before. In the studio, once the models are nude and everyone is settled in, they might as well be wearing clothes. My wife has a friend who has tagged along on shoots for a couple of years now to help with hair, makeup, outfits, etc. She told me her husband wanted to try his hand at shooting boudoir images but she didn't feel that comfortable getting completely naked for any camera, not even his. So we invited him out and he's now a regular at some of our outings. One of the things he mentioned to me after the first session was that after a while, you forget the models are naked.

In regards to this image, breast nudity or implied breast nudity is pretty mainstream in most western cultures, vaginas and penises, not so much. In this image, the exposed labia certainly arrested my first assessment and part of that is because of the dramatic lighting. Until things in the US change, showing this part of the female form immediately limits the audience and that's a bit sad. For most folks it's the dividing line between porn and art.

As for some of the commentary, I await the complaint of unshaven arms.

I enjoy seeing people who are comfortable in their skins. Where the adjustment may be required is in the space between the ears of some viewers.

No, not really. She's a plump woman and she has issues with her midriff. She's posed in lingerie and in some of those shots she's exposed her breasts, but as far as I know, she hasn't posed nude. I have some cute snapshots of her and my wife in a hot tub, but nothing formal. We did get her out to a nudist club earlier this year and I think she finally started enjoyed herself, probably as much as I did, since I don't really care to walk around naked either. Right now, she just doesn't want a photo of her nude body and of course that's fine. Her husband and my wife are two peas in a pod when it comes to nudity, they really don't have any hangups about their bodies.

In our informal studio group there are six couples, but most of the men have never modeled which is perfectly fine with me.
