We took a two week cruise on Viking starting June 30 and I'm finally getting around to posting some photos. The cruise was "Into the Midnight Sun" from Bergen Norway to the Nordkapp (the northernmost place in Europe) and then Scotland, ending in London. It was our first cruise and was wonderful. This photo was taken from our our stateroom, in the Bergen Harbor on the evening that we arrived on the Viking Star; it is SOOC. Note that it was taken at 11:10 PM. We spent the next day in Bergen before sailing north in the evening. Canon 80D, EF-S 18-135.

I am fascinated by this shot. It has the immediate “beautiful” impact but the I found myself looking over and over again.

Thank you for the kind words. It was a serene and beautiful evening, and I'm glad that I captured the moment in spite of the fact that we were tired and jet lagged. We left from San Francisco on two hours of sleep, flew 10 hours to Amsterdam in a fully loaded KLM 747 through the night, spent 6 hours in the Amsterdam airport, then another 1 1/2 hours flying to Bergen. Then there was a lost bag in Bergen (that fortunately arrived during the night) and the excitement of our first trip to Europe in 45 years. I also look at the photo often.

Thanks for your kind comment. I haven't posted any more yet, but will do so soon. I'm almost finished uploading the ~2,200 RAW files to my Dropbox account, at which time I'll start processing them and start posting. I'm part way through posting a series of photos from a fall colors drive we took to the Eastern Sierras a month ago. That was my first try at Lightroom, and now I feel more confident to start on the cruise photos. The Bergen sunset was SOOC.

Good luck DJ.....on all the sorting of your photos. Sounds a bit more complicated than what I go through. Reckon I keep it somewhat on the simple side with my simple camera.

I did catch a couple of your Eastern Sierra shots & noticed they are incredibly clear. Can just imagine what some of your upcoming posts might look like with a background like Norway. Bob
