I like this shot of my granddaughter, but the reflection of the sun kind of spoils the bottom part of her face. Do any of you experts have ideas on how to fix this? I have Elements 10.
I downloaded the picture and looked at the histogram. The yellow tint you can remove(in PS) and it will improve it some. However most of the detail is gone from over exposure of the chin area. Very little to work with. Unless your real good with a PS paint brush.
In Elements 10, go to guided edit and choose the perfect portrait. Just follow the directions.

I adjusted you picture in Portrait studio but not sure how to post it back to this forum

Yellow chin fix
Nice work. May I ask how you did it?

I made new empty layer (colour mode)
Used Paintbush Tool (soft) in Colour Mode. Used Eyedropper to sample mid skin ton. Used this to paint over the yellow chin. I had to play with the layer blend modes to get the effect right. Flattened layers. Used Patch Tool to blend the edge of the sunlightened area of chin, nose and jaw.
I'm not very slick at doing fixes in PS as I judge everything by eye so fogive me if this if this seems like a sledgehammer to crack a nut :-).

rsnoeyink... I just looked again that the brightness of the lower face. Even with the skin tone changed it's still too brigth. I took a lasso selection round that part (150px feather), copied and pasted to new layer then adjusted the Curves. I think it allows the viewer to see those gorgeous eyes even more. Just had another look and decided that there was an overall warm tone that flattened the skin tones and facial features. I adjusted the RGB sliders in Levels. I couldn;t resist taking out the slightly distracting background. I hope you approve. This is the last tinker...promise.... I just couldn't resist it with such a beautiful child. Cath
I approve. Thanks for sharing your methods. I'll have to give this a try. Of course I have to agree she's a beautiful child.
