I have a canon 60d and a 50mm 1.8 and 1.4. I'm able to get tack sharp images with the 1.8 even wide open. However, not the same with the more expensive 1.4. I called Canon to inquire about calibration of the lens and they recommend that I send the my camera body as well. I really don't want to be without my camera for a week or more . Is it better to have the lens calibrated to the body or would I get the same results with only the lens calibration. What are your thoughts it experiences. The issues of focus with the 1.4 are even with the lens stopped down to 3.5 or higher. I've checked on kits to do it yourself, but the 60d doesn't have that capability.
i would find a local repair shop and walk both in and let them check 1st b4 sending to canon most will be honest and tell u if u need to send to canon i found one here in atlanta that repaired my 50 1.4 for 95 and canon wanted 200 to repair after it was dropped and messed up the drive motor for the focus could not even do manual
Just curious - why have 2 50mm lenses?
