The place i used to frequent is 50 miles east of me, The car gets 18 mpg, doesn't sound like a lot of driving but by the time i double that 50 plus go another 50 to the south, i've put on that 150 miles. We have pronghorn sheep here but if you even think of slowing the car down, they are gone in a flash, so i don't even bother with them.
I will just have to wait it out before the Deer start moving in, so i can catch a few shots at the water pail.
Its been in the 90's here as well and no rain in sight. Not very good conditions for man more beast..
:)
I have been putting out deer corn scattered around... (
show quote)
Most often shots near home turn out to be the best. The places I drive to usually take me from 5 to 20 min. to drive to.
Always a pleasure to look at.

i get that good feeling when i see all of the wildlife around here.
Since they've spent the summer eating my roses and the tomatoes, deer have dropped a bit on my 'Most Favored Visitors' list. Still fun to see them in the yard, but why can't they eat the ragweed? There's plenty of it, and I'm sure the stuff's nutritious...
Nice shot, Mare!

suggestion: rub vicks vapor rub on things and lay them on and around the bushes.
Its strong smelling and if it holds true( like it does for my pumpkins) they will leave your flowers and bushes alone.
some dummy left her garden gate open about a month back and the next morning - my grape vines, my new fruit trees were all stripped of the leaves. i was not to happy, but not much to be done after the fact.
Please keep me posted on the outcome, Randy.
