Beautiful closeups, Carol, and a lovely way to showcase flowers at the end of their season. Your ground cover is Elegant Ruellia. It seems to thrive under many conditions and is very hardy.

Thank you, Donna. The Ruellia thrives and spreads! I think it would take over without discipline! I have plants popping up everywhere.

My plants are somewhat bedraggled this time of year. Summer heat and rains take a toll but fall will bring rejuvenation. I discovered that a closer look discovers the beauty that is still there!

Thank you, Corky! Guess who’s on my milkweed now - Queen butterfly caterpillars. First time I have noticed them.

Thank you, Merry! I love Pentax, too. It is one of the few plants that doesn’t seem to be bothered by the heat. Mine have bloomed all summer and they are still doing just fine.

Each is up to your usual high standards, but the Salvia is on another plane.

WOW!

Thank you, Cany. The Salvia is not impressive in the garden . It is a small bush and the flowers are very small. However, it really shines when you see it up closeup loke this.
