Just wondering if anybody has had some experience with this new lens from Fuji. Especially opposed to the Fuji 90 MM F2???
I have the Fuji 60 mm macro, which with the crop feature is effectively a 90 mm. It provides exceptionally sharp Images and is less costly than the 80 mm.
I've read that it's incredibly sharp. But I've held it in my hands on my XT-2, and it was just too big and heavy to carry in my bag. So I've stayed with a wonderful vintage Takumar macro 100mm f/4 lens with adaptor. Works great. If you can handle the weight and size, though, the Fuji 80mm macro is supposed to be a great lens. Look at all the positive reviews.

It is rather big and heavy (way larger than the Fuji 60MM which I never liked), and it makes a clunky noise as it is handled (which by all accounts is normal). But it does the job pretty well - these were taken a couple of months back when I first got the 80.

Just curious - what did you dislike about the 60? (I am considering one).
Thanks

Well, it's certainly was cute and small (I rented one for a week when I started down the Fuji road a few years back) but it was quite slow to focus and the working length (the minimum distance from which I could shoot) was a bit short. To me it was the most disappointing of all the Fuji lenses (and I have a gaggle of them today).
I have both lenses. Love them both. The 80 is, in my experience, best suited for macro, the auto-focus gets confused toward infinity, sky, etc. But the macro is gorgeous; sharp, tight in, sharpness falls off a bit at f16, 22. That it's 80mm makes it easy to get in tight. Yes it's big but so what. The 1:1 makes a big difference over the 60mm, which I had and didn't like much. Focus slow and not so accurate, sharpness just okay, and not 1:1. The 90mm is also a beautiful lens. Very sharp, terrific range (can almost be close-up).
