The Falcon was the basic platform for the Mustang.

Very nice!! When we were first married back in 1965, I had a 1964 Ford Falcon Ranchero like the one in #4...Burgundy Red, 260 V8, 4 speed. We did a lot of tent camping with it...would get 24mpg on the highway...wish we still had it. In the five years we owned it, only had one water pump go out.

Glad you liked the photos and that the one of the Ranchero brought back some good memories.

I had a 63 Falcon Sprint Convertible with the 260 V8 way back when. Tried to buy a 64 1/2 Mustang convertible once but when I went to see it the only useable part was the trim tag. Nice shots and thanks for posting.

Looks like a Ford show!
My wife's father ordered a maroon Mustang coupe when they were announced. He ended up with one of the first 1965 V-8s. Loved it, exported to the UK when he was assigned there in 1966 and toured UK and the Continent in it. Never failed to draw a crowd. It was a BIG (physically) vehicle for Europeans to see at the time. I recall comments about how large the tires (tyres to the Brits) were.

Check out my Part1 post for the show and you'll see it was not dominated by Fords.
