Last week, we took a few days and visited Bar Harbor, Maine...Or as the natives call it, "Ba Haba." It was beautiful, and quite a location. The big ocean liners stop there for a day and shuttle the people on and off the ship for shore excursions. I took a bunch of shots, and i hope you like them. The white bridge is the "Thaddeus Shepley Somes" memorial bridge, and the other bridge is the "Waldo-Hancock Bridge" over the Penobscot River. It is the tallest public bridge observatory in the world. 447' high.

on the road coming out of Bar Harbor, a bridge. it was only held up at either end. and only 5 people or less could cross over it at one time.

if you look closely at the top of the bridge, you can see an observatory. Nooooo i didn't go up to the top. LOL

Nice shots.
If you do go up to the bridge observatory, DON'T spring out of the elevator!
The big glass window at the top is about 4-5 feet from the elevator door.

Thanks for looking, Longshadow. And believe me, snowballs in hell will survive before i would go to the top of that observatory. It took 3-fingers of JD once i got to the top of the Space Needle in Seattle, and that is much lower than that bridge. LOL.

Thanks for the memories. My wife and I were there several weeks ago to celebrate our 56th anniversary. Crowded, but we loved being there. Great shot of Thunder Hole. When we were there, it wasn't even a Whisper Hole!

(It depends on the tide level how impressive it is.)

Thanks for looking older, and for the nice comments. there was high tide when we were there. There is a man in the shot with two big Canon cameras and long lenses. He got soaked. i asked him if the cameras were ok, lol, he said i was not worried about him as much as his cameras, I told him yes, he could dry off but the cameras...cant.

I agree Longshadow, the tide was coming in with a vengeance and it was so cool.

I like the little white bridge and I would ascend up to that observatory.

Thanks for looking photophile, much appreciated. The little white bridge was very shaky when i got to the middle. The only two points that touched the ground was both ends. You are braver than i. LOL.

I didn't see the only Chinese rest. Chow Maine.
