I miss the bottom reflections but not the boat on the left. Maybe photoshop out the offending boat so as to keep the dimensions of the first shot?

Nice shot and PP, but I can't really see much difference in the pre- and post processed version except for some sharpening especially around the "M" on the bow of the left vessel and some minor cropping on the left making for a tighter picture.
Question: Were these taken in the spring immediately after they were launched? In 60+ years of being on the water, I don't think I've ever seen three fishing vessels as spiffy clean and with little or no fishing gear visible.

....slanting Horizon. Honestly, I think this is a great shot if the horizon were straight and the protruding boat on the left corner was healed or cloned out - the original color/contrast/brightness appear fine to me (maybe a bit to cool) .. I like the original crop - to me the second image is too tight and contrast makes the boats look washed out a bit....
Maybe make the clouds a bit more ominous by burning down just slightly.
This is all just my opinion of course. Great shot to work with!!
Nice image. The pp adjustment helped bring out the subject and red color brings viewers eye right in to photo. Unrelated, the fenders on my boat were never that clean. Do you have any history on the vessels. Nice job.

Nice image. Your horizon is slanted, though.

Remembering back to your OP as soon as I saw these, this was my same instant reaction. Losing the reflections is not an improvement.
This edit was done on comments people made. I thought it was just fine the way it was with the exception of taking the car out and adjusting the horizon which still needs to be done.

One more thing to consider or do is to crop by pulling the left side to the point the car is not visible. Pull in the right to balance the gap. Leave the top and bottom alone.
Love the lay out of these boats. Very nicely captured.

I loved the image either way, but still learned something again.
