Welcome, you've come to the right place. Enjoy your journey
You're welcome to the forum
I have a little experience Behind the camera. I have been shooting photos since 1954. Now I will say this, longevity behind the camera lens has little to relate to skill. It was in 1963 that I started to work in a darkroom processing my own photos.
If processing a photo makes it a lie, then every photo is a lie, foe very photo has gotten some processing. Just developing the film starts the first distortion. How dark or light, how thick should the emulation be? These are things that can change in the lab. In digital photography the lab is your camera/computer.
Shucks, even our eyes start the lie. The blue I see may be different from the blue you see even though we stand in the same place.
So I think of post processing a means to take a view and make it look like what my mind thinks is the best view.
Oh I am now 75.

Hello, I've been interested in photography most of my adult life. Probably because my Dad was an amateur photographer. Since I retired I've been spending a lot more time shooting images, and editing them on my computer. I belong to a photography club, and have a Flickr account. I'm looking forward to learning from the members of this community.
Herb, Welcome welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a great road in photography with your retirement. Look forward to seeing your images and help you with learning.
