Some time back I downloaded a EXIF viewing software on the UHH site that allowed me to view the EXIF data on UHH downloads. Well.....my desktop will not allow me to log in for whatever reason so I'm now using a lap top that I keep as a backup. I've searched the site for EXIF downloads but am unable to find one that was like the one I was using. Can anyone suggest one to use? At this point I just want one to see the EXIF information on UHH downloaded images if it has not been removed by the poster.

Also, is there anyone who could shed some light on what may be causing the log on issue on my desktop? I get this message:

The user profile service failed the logon.
User profile cannot be loaded.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional, and my password is correct and I can boot up using the "Safe Mode" so the hard drive doesn't seem to have crashed. Is there another way to bypass using a password to log on? Many thanks for any help/ideas that anyone could share.

You have to log in to the root section of the computer and change the user ID, and need the admin password to do that. I real pain in the **s as I had to once and it took me a month to figure it out. Had forgotten the admin password.

Try Picture Information Extractor to read EXIF. It's free too.

If you were able to log on after downloading the plugin for Firefox why do you think its the Exif reader? Have you tried updating Firefox?

Thanks for your suggestions. However, the EXIF download is not creating the log on issue with my desktop and it had been working fine before something else went south and is now preventing me to log on. I downloaded the EXIF reader on this laptop and it runs fine. I am currently running the latest version of Firefox. Something with the memory on the desktop seems to have become corrupted from what I can tell. It's a six year old machine and has the original hard drive so it probably needs to be replaced. I'll need to contact Carbonite and have the data back up on it sent using their Courier Recovery Service.

The other possible issue is the hard drive. I've had a number of machines that start out with that type of problem, and/or blue screen crashes, then move on to totally being unable to boot the windows OS. Installing one of the Linux OSs on it as a dual boot machine will insure that you can access the data from the machine in the event that the Windows OS will not boot.

My advice is if you have to ask, you will not want to mess with it. It's a PITA if you are a non-tech geek. And yes I have installed it and used it before

foxfirerodandgun: I use the old Picasa 3 program on my Windows 7 pro. Take any photo from the photo gallery and download it to a folder on your desktop, then open it in Picasa 3, select it and open in view, select properties, and there on the right side of the photo will be all the EXIF info for the photo. Hope this will help, I don't know if perhaps another program can do this or not but it works for me. Good Luck; Denny
