Tell them you want the same deal as Hank. $35.00 for six months!

Try cancelling!

I’ve leased three Volkswagens in a row.

The first one I kept XM for two years and cancelled without event.

The second I kept for all three years.

The newest one they transferred over my six months credit from the early terminated lleade added in my three month free trial and with a current special I have 27 months of XM before I get a bill.

I wasn’t bothered by the sales pitch the one time I did cancel.

No business is imn business to lose business.

I for one am glad it's hard to cancel a Sirius XM subscription. I bought a receiver for under a dollar at a Goodwill outlet store and found out it has a lifetime subscription.

Today I had great difficulty canceling my SiriusXM subscription because their employees are required to prevent you from doing so at all costs.

Today I received a letter from SiriusXM Radio informing me that my annual subscription was about to automatically renew at a cost of $228.53 for their minimum service. Last year I paid just under $100! I called to cancel because I am retired and I am no longer in my car long enough at one time to make it worth even a token amount (I have driven less than 2100 miles since January 1) and that is absolutely true.

The first person I talked to didn't have the ability or authority to cancel it and tried to, over and over again, convince me that I should not cancel (10 minutes of my time). I kept telling her, "...No! Please just cancel it...." several times and finally asked to speak to a supervisor. She argued with me some more for several minutes and then transferred me to a non-supervisor who proceeded to repeat the process for a full thirty-minutes. Time after time I told her I did not want any more sales pitches to just cancel my order. I finally told her that I would not renew my subscription and that if she did not immediately cancel it, I would report SiriusXM to both state officials and the Federal Trade Commission. After a few more sales pitches over my protests, I made it clear to her that I would never again do business with Sirius and that I would let everyone know about how I was treated. She finally reluctantly relented and processed the cancelation.

I talked to my wife afterwards and she reminded me that the same thing happened to her when she tried to cancel her subscription last year. This was obviously their company policy that was being followed.

Consider this a warning before you agree to even a trial offer from SiriusXM.
Today I had great difficulty canceling my SiriusXM... (show quote)

Yup, the same bullshit for Sirius with my account. They sent a bill collector after me and I had to get my lawyer involved to get rid of their account and the fraudulent billing!!

Maybe this is being a bit paranoid, but I keep wondering if Sirius is involved in something nefarious like getting everyone to put these things in their cars so that they can be controlled from outside which is why they don't want anyone to opt out of their service - I saw a similar plot in a Doctor Who episode!

Absolutely call the credit card company and report them as fraud. I did this with a music subscription service. I canceled them (or so they told me on the phone). The next month I had a charge, called them back and told them to refund my money now while I am on the phone or I am reporting them as fraud. They said they cannot refund the money because they back bill. I told them I had previously canceled so they are steeling my money. I called the credit card company, they immediately took the charge off and said they would deal with the company. I never received another charge, and my credit card company still loves me.

I bought a new vehicle and got a 6 month subscription to Sirius and for me it is a waste. I have only driven the the vehicle 3k miles in 11 months. I just use bluetooth and listen to Pandora or IHeart which gives me a better choice. They definitely do not like it when you cancel the trial subscription. I just do not drive the vehicle to justify a subscription. Now they are trying to get me to return for $5 per month. They play the same music if you ever listen to a particular channel for a few hours. So not worth the headache in my humble opinion!!!

I took my car to the dealer for an oil change. A few days later I got the 100th (or so) offer to activate satellite radio. It is a 2014 car, I bought it new, have never used satellite radio, and still can't get off their mailing list. I agree with the others. Call your credit card company to unauthorize payment, then follow up with a registered letter.
