Anyone have any idea what this creature might b ?
I grabbed the photo quickly on full auto as it kept disappearing below the waves. I only saw it three times.
It was off the UK coast at Penzance which is about 7 miles from "Landsend" literally the most Westerly point in the British Isles
I see a fish's body proceeding to the left underwater. Looks like a dorsal fin to me.
Could also be the remains of a tree that was blown off the land and has been worn smooth. The part above water could be the worn stump of a broken off tree limb. Imagination can play tricks in the mind's eye.
I wouldn't say that is a fish's body to the left, but there is more to that object than can be seen above the water. Neither do I think that is a dorsal fin due to the apparent hole or cavity near the top. My guess is that it is some piece of flotsam or a piece of debris that is floating along near or just at the surface.
Looks like an old seine net marker float that has lost its top cord and swivel (hence the hole at the top), but is still attached to at least one net weight or a crab pot and weight? As many of the Cornish and French fishermen repurpose pieces of equipment, it could be a marker for a line of crab or lobster pots, or was just simply lost overboard?

Lockness Monster?
Couldn't be Nessie.
I had just left Loch Ness and had my photo taken with him
It came up in 3 different locations, quite far from each other. Total mystery
can you put up the full size? It seems to me it is a living critter.
It's a seal, quite commonly seen off the Cornish coast. Don't know if this is a Grey Seal or Atlantic.

I agree with "seal", but a downloadable version might give us a better chance to help.
Agree with seal. Looks like just the snout getting a breath. You can see a bulge like the edge of the eye. Maybe hunting and not bothering to come up all the way to breathe. View is of side of the head so can only see one nostril.

Ha, ha. (Couldn't resist the chuckle).
Up close, looks like a seal mouth.
