I guess I’ve been lucky then. I always get exactly what I order; but, then, I make careful choices. I use B&H or Adorama or my local camera store to buy those big ticket items you mentioned. I have bought Canon all-in-one printers through Amazon though (for $59, that’s not really big ticket and the shipping is free). Also, I get points on my credit card and I hook up my points to use on Amazon. We have a fire stick and stream movies through Amazon Prime. I tried their photo site for sharing pics but quit because it was impossible to enlarge the picture to see what you wanted to have them print. Prints were decent as I recall.

I do pay attention to the reviews and there has been a lot of interesting answers to their validity.

Thank you all so much!

I have been an Amazon customer for 21 years. I have been more than satisfied with my purchases. Whenever there is an issue, and it does occur on occasion, Amazon ALWAYS handles the situation to my total satisfaction. In some situations they have actually given me an account credit to makeup for my inconvenience; nobody does that!

As far as the reviews, watch out for the one-liners. The lengthy reviews are most credible.
Like anything else, one has to use a degree of common sense.

I'm sticking with Amazon!

Don’t trust those review with a ten foot pole, Amazon is in for the money and only good reviews would be suspicious so they throw in a bad one to make it plausible.
I buy from brick and mortar store where I can talk face to face with a human being

That's great; face to face instills confidence.

I can't afford to help pay their rent, salaries, insurance, utilities and all the
other expenses associated with a physical store; perhaps you can.

So I'll stick with Amazon and continue to get good, brand-name merchandise
at very competitive prices knowing I'll get superb customer service and
knowing my purchases are backed by a solid company.

Twenty-one years of doing business with Amazon with complete
satisfaction does it for me. I only hope you have been as successful.

Is there a complaint, return process with Amazon? When Amazon ships from some third party, how can they know what is bogus or okay.

When buying through Amazon there is a heightened risk that what you end up with is fake. Perhaps it's not the reviews but the products that are suspect. I'm not suggesting that everything bought through Amazon is a cheap imitation, but buying through such vendors is not as reliable as buying through established retail outlets who only buy directly from source (the original manufacturer) and who have a reputation to worry about.

And one of the problems with a lot of the fakes is that they're very good imitations.

I've never had much problem buying from Amazon as long as it has been for items sold by and fulfilled directly from Amazon. If it's listed as coming from a 3rd party (except B&H, KEH, etc) I take a pass. Remember if it sounds to good to be true it's most likely not".

Might the Chinese SD cards be hit with the Trump tariff and our cost go up accordingly.

Yes, I had read that some Lexar execs started a new company, but I didn't know that it was a Chinese firm. I will stick to SanDisk then. Thank you for this info!

Zug55 your response is on the money. Also I look at dates of negative reviews. Many times they are 2+ years old and the product may have been improved or a new model is out.
