I know this camera is just out but does anyone have it and if so are they shooting in RAW? I tried the camera out but can't view my photos as Photoshop CC isn't compatible so am wondering if anyone out there can help me? I tried to download the Nikon View NX2 but the download will not complete - I am using a Mac - so if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Faststone Image Viewer can view raw from the new P1000. At least on PC, and if my memory serves me right, it is available to Mac.
Faststone is a great fast viewer that should be on everybody's computer! :-)

Tried that but the Welcome Nikon stops and freezes - have tried several times with no success but thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks for your suggestion will give that a go. Very frustrating to get a new camera and then not be able to view your photos............ Adobe said they don't know when or even if they will be updating their system to include that camera.

Had no luck with Faststone, when I tried to download the Mac version it came up as Windows but appreciate the suggestion.

The The Nikon Coolpix B700 shoots raw files that have a .NRW extension. Is this the extension on your P1000 raw files?
I use Nikon Capture N-XD (free software) to convert the raw files to .tif files which I then can process in Photoshop.

Here is a list of compatible software:

I believe all those listed were already recommended in your topic here, so it may be worth your time to figure out why the downloads are not completing.

Thank you but I did eventually get the NX-D program to work which Bobspez recommended.

What about the Adobe DNG converter. I have LR6 which I bought outright. Greedy Adobe decided not to support it some time ago, so I use the Adobe DNG converter on the RAW files from my Sony A7III, then just process them as normal in LR6. It is another step, but it should only be temporary.

I could see myself down the road ( not long from now ) perhaps going to a a P1000 or Lumix FZ1000 type camera; but, have you seen the P1000? It is gigantic, at least to me ( small hands )

A tiny savings for Nikon and a major headache for you.

Take a look here.
