Issue with Nikon D7500 and Nissin Di700a flash

A situation has occurred a number of times for me where I attach my flash to the camera and it works fine in TTL, but the camera won’t fire with the flash in manual mode. Removing and reattaching the flash seems to be the only solution. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if anyone has a suggestion / recommendation on how to go about getting it corrected.

Contact alignment is critical in dedicated flashes. You might try experimenting with moving the flash back and forth in the mount to see if that makes any difference. Also, make sure that the contacts on both the flash and camera are clean and clear of debris Everytime you mount the flash.

I don't know why it would work in i-TTL and not manual. I have a Sunpak flash that has the 1 shot problem with a number of Nikon cameras. The flash would fire 1 shot then quit. Turning the flash off then on would make it to fire another shot. I think it's the SCR latched on problem. I think in the camera there is an SCR to fire the flash (not a dry contact like old camera which doesn't require low voltage sync). When the SCR is turned on it stays on until the voltage across it drop to below a certain level. Possibly the voltage from the flash doesn't drop when it fires.
