Will try and post this again. Went outside this morning and saw this guy hovering overhead. Don't know much about hawks, I think it is a red-tailed hawk. Can someone please identify for me? Thanks, Ken.
Yes, that appears to be an adult "Krider's Red-Tailed" hawk. This is a "morph" of the Red-Tailed Hawk which is a paler version of the breed, found in the Great Plains states. Give the pale pinkish color showing through the tail feathers and the generally lighter plumage, and the general markings on the bottom of the wings, it fits the "Krider's" description, and I think Nebraska fits the "Great Plains" criterion.
