If you have not done so already, find a good tutorial on how LR handles files when importing, etc.
The biggest mistake I see new LR users make is not understanding the relationship between the image file and LR.

LR is great software, I've been using it since I first started shooting digital, but it is important to understand the file handling part as well as the post processing part.
I have such a mental block to lightroom and I don't know why! And my photos are suffering because of it! Yeah I know-you shouldn't need LR! I let my organization get away from me and I think that is the big problem, now Its overwhelming! I ust have to get into the right frame of mind and attack it head on. I think that the saturation is a bit overcooked. If you tone down the saturation a bit I think the image will be more pleasing.
