I like the Peak Design Slide: https://www.peakdesign.com/product/straps/slide . Excellent quality, nice quick release buttons and you can reconfigure it for sling, neck or shoulder strap. Edges of the strap are rolled so it doesn't chafe. Works great with my FX and DX bodies equipped with longer lenses.

I pay little attention to how much the camera weighs and more to what it will do. I keep things simple. I use Upstrapand will continue to do so due to their exemplary customer relations.

Recently I upgraded my camera to a full frame Nikon and I’m surprised at how much heavier it is than my D5500, especially when I add a larger lens. I also got a strap that I think is called “cross body,” meaning it goes over one shoulder and to my side. That seems to cause shoulder pain, plus it gets in my way when I turn my camera sideways. Any thoughts on a harness style? I’m 5’4” and about 105 lbs. I’m open to other suggestions, too. Thank you.

Oh, bummer. Didn’t see that. I Purchased out quite a while ago. But, in looking I found several, most of them made of leather that would do very well in the same Way. I simply stay away from the neoprene. they’re not heavy enough to hold a good DSLR.

I would beg to differ. OpTech neoprene straps have been holding my cameras since the F5, much of the time with a 70/80-200/2.8. Not one issue so far, and more comfortable as they absorb some of the weight and bounce. Best of luck.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who worries about dropping my camera! I’m always very careful, and have managed to drop my iphone twice now, after buying the larger size. Fortunately, I had a good case on it, which isn’t an option for my DSLR.

My friend bought the Cotton Carrier so she could take her camera trail riding on her horse. All I can think about is falling off, and landing on that camera! I’ve seen a few suggestions here that might work for me. Even though I have a padded OpTech, I’m wondering if a winder strap might do a better job of distributing the weight. There were a couple of neoprene ones that looked like a possibility.

The thing I’d like to do is have an opportunity to try a strap before buying. I’m hoping one of our camera stores will let me do that.

Personally, I use a simple hand-strap. I know a lot of folks don't like these, but the cam is always at my hand, and simply doesn't allow me to drop it.

I’ve seen some very nice ones, and a friend who had a neck injury loves hers. I’ve just had so much wrist and arm pain I’m afraid this would make it worse.

I’ve gone back to this one a couple of times. It looks like there’s lots of padding and it’s fairly wide. I’m not normally that picky, but it seems like every time I carry my camera, I end up with pain.

Try the Up-Strap. The web site is a mess and hard to follow, but call them. I purchased two of the M-RR-K straps. and like they say, they do not slip. Also very comfortable.

Bob, I hope you see this. I ended up buying an Up-Strap. It’s the M-RR-Sling, and it has lots of padding. My only problem is they don’t show how you use it! Probably my best bet is to call them because, as you pointed out, their website is not very good! Anyway, thanks for the info. Anne
