Just wondering if anyone has found a really good and easy to understand book on the D850? I know there's the manual but I find it hard to find what I need in it even though I have many, many pages flagged to refer back to. And I tried doing a search to see if this topic was discussed somewhere but I could not find anything helpful. Though I did see many, many fantastic photos taken with it by many of you.

I love to read but for some reason when I read instruction and "help" books...I see stars swimming in front of my eyes lol. I can't answer you on the D850 books but there is a great instructional video class /guide by John Greengo on Creative Live that I purchased for $49 that has finally gotten me understanding my Fuji. He has one for the D850 as well - and has a great teaching way about him that is easy to understand.

I use the Kindle edition on my laptop at a very good price:

David Busch's Guide to the Nikon D850, like all of his books, is in an easy to understand format with lots of illustrations and pictures. I always get Busch's book for my cameras.

Not bad, but I prefer David Busch: https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-D850-Experience-Photography-Operation-ebook/dp/B077DD4GQG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536407746&sr=8-1&keywords=nikon+d850+experience

Darrel Young is my go to guy with his “Mastering the xxxx” series published by Rockynook. He details all the menus in English, not tech speak and provides suggested settings to get you started. Can’t recommend him highly enough!

I have Darrel Young's Book for the D7100........beyond excellent. He is an engineer and very thorough, plus he recommends his settings for each area of concern covered in his book/s.

I found David Busch’s Nikon D850 Guide to Digital SLR Photography helpful, along with YouTube videos on specific topics.

Another must have: https://backcountrygallery.com/secrets-nikon-autofocus-system/

There are several very informative videos that member Steve Perry has on his site and are definitely worth checking out.
