I DO see the smiling people Voss, but there is one guy at the right of the shot that doesn't look happy at all. He appears to be glaring at you. What is their message?

Actually, I think he's glaring at the group rather than at me. As to their message.... This was in Austin, and I've seen them in Laredo and other places, but never approached them. Perhaps I will the next time I see them.

Smiling, but perhaps not happy?

Interesting demonstration and a great capture of it.

I've always found it slightly strange that the Guy Fawkes masks are used by "rebels" on both left and right as a symbol of anarchistic tendencies. After all, Guy Fawkes wanted to blow up Parliament to install a more autocratic and theocratic regime in England. I don't think he'd hold much truck with those who use him as a symbol today. The masks, however, are compelling and a little creepy when used in group settings like this one.

Interesting they are holding a sign that says truth - yet they hide behind masks

Interesting demonstration and a great capture of i... (show quote)

I'm always uneasy when any masked person is in public, regardless of the mask (unless it's Halloween, of course).

Yes, it is. I think the masks are a big reason why I haven't approached them for conversation, even though I've seen them in several places.

I can't stand Guy Fawkes masks - they are worn by anarchists who don't have enough courage to show their faces. However, that's a pretty nifty shot!

Thanks, Sue. I'm also not in favor of masks in public.

Nice shot, but folks who hide behind masks when touting their message always seem like cowards to me.

I still maintain that it's not me he's glaring at. It's them.
