In a few days, we commemorate that horrific national tragedy that is, "9/11." If you have 9 minutes and 11 seconds to spare to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of this tragedy, please click on the link in HD. WARNING: Graphic images. Thank you.

Can't pay tribute, I was there on 9/11 and not able to watch images of that day without conjuring up sad memories of the fiends and coworkers lost.

My wife's uncle was on the 98th floor of the north tower. He was a USMC vet that served in the Korean war. They finally found enough tissue to make a positive ID. Mercifully he probably never knew what hit him.

An unbelievably horrific tragedy that won't be forgotten. Stories of heroes like Rick Rescorla should not be forgotten. There were numerous heroic acts that day. They did indeed sacrifice everything.

This is another tribute though not graphic. Its a simple, classy one done by Budweiser.

Indeed, a class act by Budweiser. If I'm not mistaken, this tribute was played only once.

Unfortunately, the 9/11 tragedy continues. According to a report published in NY Post, August 12, 2018, nearly 10,000 people have suffered cancers linked to the toxic dust and smoke resulting from 9/11 attacks. Since the 9/11 attacks, more than 1,700 responders and others affected have died, including 420 of those stricken with cancers. The type of cancers linked to the 9/11 attacks include but not limited to thyroid cancer, skin cancer, prostate cancer, leukemia, breast cancer, mouth, throat, lung cancers, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

IMHO, one particular cancer related to the 9/11 attacks that will probably show a wave in diagnosis in the next 5-10 years is mesothelioma (a serious type of lung cancer). To explain, the twin towers were built that included asbestos materials (a carcinogen or cancer-causing agent). When they collapsed, these asbestos materials were pulverized and became airbone with the smoke, dust, and other toxic materials. 9/11 responders and those nearby residents inhaled these asbestos particles which then got lodged in their lungs. Mesothelioma has a long latency period about 20 years or so. "9/11 is still killing," said John Feal, an advocate for WTC responders. According to a Government Accountability Office report, 400,000 people were exposed to the airborne toxins as a result of 9/11.

I worked for the City of New York when the planes hit the building and my office was a few blocks away on John Street. I contracted Hodgkin's Lymphoma and the chemo has destroyed my heart. Had a CRT installed in July, 10 years after the end of chemo. So, yeah, this tragedy will impact us for generations to come. My doctor friend tells me that a small percentage of women in the area had miscarriages attributed to 911.

The only way I can describe the area is that if there is a hell, it's gonna look just like it did on that day.

Thanks for posting this, there are no words to describe the wickedness of this attack or the devastation caused. I believe everyone in England will be feeling support for America on September 11th.
