I was thinking of using one of my camera as a lighter but don't know which one I should used. I gave away the Pentax K1000 otherwise it's the good candidate.

Thanks for the photo. Cool lamp!

I'd be nervous about the strap hanging down once that baby starts walking, or when you are wandering around in the dark!

I probably would remove the strap from the camera. Or at least not have it dangling so precariously like that. Someone's elbow, a broom stick, or whatever gets caught in it, and the camera lamp comes crashing down.

I went to Home Depot and bought a cord set and a socket and an old fashion looking LED bulb. I removed the mirror of the camera, and drilled a hole in the back for the cord. I wired the socket and threaded it through the drilled hole. Got a corner shelf to mount it on and a cover for the cord so it doesn't show. Bought a smart switch and programed it to my Alexa. Just made up the plans as I went.

It"s high in the corner and the baby is a grand who isn't here often. Good thought though.

It’s high in the corner and if is bolted to the shelf through the tripod screw thing.

Great idea....great project...great result.

But...

Aren't cameras normally used to "capture light" rather than "emit light?"

LOL
