Before people comment that it doesn't look like a magpie, the key word is 'Aussie'. This magpie is native to Australia & is not related to the Northern Hemisphere magpie. The Aussie magpie is larger & stockier & has a shorter tail. They are a welcome sight in most back yards & become very tame. These shots were taken at midday, so sorry about the harsh lighting. Downloading is recommended.

Nice looking bird and probably very intelligent. Reminds me of a raven I saw recently who seemed unconcerned when I sat close by.
