Amazing shot. Love the new lens. How do you think it compares with the Canon 100-400-II that you have been using?

The 400m lens that Regis uses is the 400mm F/4.0 DO, a prime lens, not the 100-400. I too am waiting to hear his thoughts on that subject.

Was he able to get the salmon away? Great shot.

As usual, a great capture, Regis! Why the lens addition? Your other work has always been faultless IMO.

Today I used my new Canon 300 2.8 II to capture this Osprey and it's salmon.
Hand held at 600mm at a distance of about 150 feet.
Canon 5Dsr - Canon 300 2.8 II - Canon 2x III - 1/1000 - f/11 - ISO @ 1000.

Fantastic shot! I'm also wondering if he was able to fly away with it.
