Thank you

You might want to post this in the Astronomical Photography Forum: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-109-1.html

..., too. He's probably just as likely to get comments here as there.

I have done excellent astro with a D850 right out of the box. What does Spencer's conversion involve?

I send it in and they do their magic to the sensor, it makes the camera more sensitive to alpha spectrum which in turn creates sharper more brilliant Astro images.

Interesting ....I wonder what are the side effects ...the average D850 spends 5-7% on astro and the rest regular wavelength ..earth ..

Does this action void the camera's warranty?

Not directly related to the OP, but doesn't Nikon make an astro version of the D850?

Can’t wait to see the pics. I rented a D810A a couple of weeks ago and the day I got it, and for 5 nights, it was cloudy. When the clouds finally went away, the full moon was out! Did not get a single shot. I returned the camera $200 poorer with nothing to show for it.

The Nikon D810A was the one intended for this night skyward ventures ...

CanÃÃÂÂÂ... (show quote)

Here is an image I captured of Mount Shasta earlier this year with D810A and Nikon 70-200 and first attempt with equatorial Mount.

And a couple without the mount, from this year.
All under varied conditions and lighting

The D850 with conversion will be an upgrade with its cleaner sensor, illuminated buttons. Cleaner screen, tilt screen, better dynamic range.

Where was this, and could I ask what kind of camera you used?
