Greg, the III is my EDC pocket camera, and the way I think of it; if it's small enough for my pants (and jeans) pocket, it's probably too small for my hands, but if it fits my hands comfortably (as does the a6000), then it's too big for my jean pockets. It's a choice; one or the other.
When I look at making the camera larger with grips, extenders, etc., I just think; 'why not just buy a larger camera?'.
Where I think I'm going here is the way of simplifying my kit, so to speak. What interests me about the RX100vi is that with it's 24-200 lens, I can have everything I now have with the A6300 and the 16-50 and 55-210 zoom lenses, only in a compact package, and I don't have to change lenses. Yes, it has a smaller sensor, but I think the 1" sensor would be adequate for my needs. And I'd be able to put all of this in a shirt pocket. There have been a couple suggestions as to a handgrip for the camera, which makes sense to me. The price tag is a bit much, though I believe I can sell my current gear for enough to fund the RX100vi. I guess what it all amounts to is a shifting of gears. For what I do, I think it would do well.
