Adobe Portfolio

Has anybody had experience with it? Positives, negatives? Basically, is it worth it? I know the cost is zero with CC. The examples shown, while they only have a certain number of templates, seem to be quite varied. And with basically *zero* computer skills, how though is it to use?

(I did a UHH Search - last entry back in 2016)

I used it for over 1 year until I got my own domain and web hosting with Squarespace.

It is really easy to build a portfolio dragging and dropping images, adding text, etc. And yes, the templates are quite varied. So, you could get tonybot.myportfolio.com as your URL. You can even set it up with Google analytics to get usage and visitor statistics, which I've always found fascinating.

So, while you are suggesting that it is a good product, but Squarespace is also something to look into?

If you have CC subscription, the additional cost is 0, it’s hard to argue about the cost. Why spend money on Squarespace if you can use Portfolio for no additional cost? I hear good things about Portfolio. And the examples there are impressive.

I am already set up on SmugMug or else I would spend some time and make a site on Portfolio. For me it’s more about the time than the cost. I can’t “afford” the time to maintain two sites. I work for a living I prefer to spend my limited free time shooting rather than sitting behind a computer.

Why not give Portfolio a try then post a report here on your experiences with it?

Yesterday Adobe sent an email to use Portfolio and drop Squarespace.
I have not tried it yet, but sounds like a good idea.

Portfolio is fairly easy to use, but not exactly intuitive. Read the guidance before you start. Once you get the hang of its sort of obtuse interface, it goes fast. I had a situation where I had to have an online portfolio up in a day’s time. It was easy to generate the thing quickly because of the simple templates, it looked decent, and I was able to update and improve it later on as I had more time.

I love Adobe spark as I can create all kinds of printed and digital marketing material, from brochures to videos. Can be used directly from their site via your email list or in some cases as a pdf.
