I don't think its quite as simple as that. There are some folks with genuine issues and too little technical skill to resolve them.

I agree, but if you have had years of problems with something, doesn't it make sense to try something different?

And that is my point exactly. If I was consistently having problems with something, I would seek a different solution rather than beating myself up and beating up the thing that is giving me problems. After all, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. Switch to Apple and see if that solves your frustrations. I don't own Apple computers but I know several people that have used both and prefer Apple. It may be the solution to your problems. I sincerely hope so.

Of course. But I'm a tinkerer. If I'm having problems with something that others are not than I have a dogged determination to figure out why.

Don't want to add to the acrimony. Just that switching to Mac usually involves considerably more expense than staying with Windows. Also fewer options for software. Would be like switching from Canon to Nikon. Not always possible.

PCs and Macs usually appeal to two different types of people. I personally don't like Macs, but those that use them are in love with him. I'm just glad we have options that please everybody.

You have to make concessions. I realize that Macs are more expensive than PCs but most photographers think nothing of spending thousands of dollars for their camera systems. So the additional cost of buying a Mac should not be a deterrent if it relieves the frustration of their having to deal with a PC with Windows 10. I realize that there are applications that will run on a PC but not on a Mac but these are the tradeoffs that we make. If you decide to use Windows 10 because it is less expensive or because there are more applications for it than for Macs, you've made your choice and you live with it without blasting the product. After all, you had a choice. I happen to like Windows 10 very much and I will continue to support it as long as it provides me with the service that I need. If in the future, Windows fails to support my needs, I will look at other options. I never want to feel that I have no choice or that I'm locked into Windows. I also don't want to feel that I'm locked into Nikon, Canon, Olympus or any of the other camera/lens manufacturers. I will always keep my options open.

I see nothing wrong with people complaining about Windows. It's how the folks at Microsoft learn what people like and what they don't like. More importantly, it's how they find out what needs fixing. In my opinion, they do a pretty good job of it too.

That me. To me buying a computer like person buying a new car. The dealership sale you the car and the same time give you the service manuals for the car and said have a good day.

I think Microsoft gets most of its feedback from their first responder program. I really doubt that Microsoft monitors this website or others like it.

I have seen Microsoft employees chime in at forums before when there is a discussion about Windows. I always make it a point to go to their website and make a comment when I have a serious problem with Windows. I imagine their willingness to work on a problem depends upon the number of complaints they get. They have bots monitoring the internet, just like Google does. And the government, I'm sure.
