My grandson playing is final season of HS football. I'm seating in the handicap area at the bleacher rail. I'm using a 7Dmii with a Sigma 70-200, 2.8. Some shots the ISO is 8-10,000. I'm thinking thats because I'm in the bleachers. I'm trying to get permission to be on the field, but don't know. I'm aware that the quality of a couple shots aren't he best. The school photography class/club has 5 kids with school cameras and 2 with video tablets on mono pods.

Anyway, here we go. We won 56-21. Hopefully this will be a good season. 2-0 so far.

Pretty good shots from the stands, especially with the ISO so high. Yes being on the field make a world of difference. Go for it and above all have fun. Post more when you can. Thanks

Tom

Hi Gray:
Try to get on the field. That will help you a lot. A good start.

Thanks. Waiting word from the school. Problem being, I use a scooter and that could be the hold back. But I could stay at each end zone for half a game and shoot from the visitor side of the field. That would allow photos of the home team, coaches and home team fans in the bleachers. Thanks again for your encourgagement.

My wife is the 'school photographer' at our tiny school, and she, too, worries about her mobility out near the action, so her solution is a non-shooting spotter who watches for peripheral action that might be headed towards the camera/shooter. It's a safety procedure that is easy to implement. Good luck.

Good Idea since we've got our eyes in the viewfinder.
