And please quit yelling.
THEN READ THE LENS AND NOT THE CRAP YOU FIND ON THE INTERNET!
Simple.

I posted this picture the other day. How would Photography Life explain an AF-s lens that also has the "D" distance chip?
People, including well know authors, refer to VR 2 which also doesn't exist. If you go to the Nikon site they have a section that clearly explains the designations. They are the source, that too many folks ignore because it is easier to regurgitate something somebody else wrote.

I give up. You come up with a pic of ANY Nikkor lens that says "AF-D" and I will concede. Since there is no such lens you will keep coming up with idiot blogger posts from the internet that show nothing but the rampant idiocy of these bloggers. I think Nikon knows more about their products than all of these idiots combined, after all, NIKON makes the lenses not the idiot bloggers. Have a good night!

Thats only one. I also have an AF-S 80-200MM F2.8D and a AF-S 28-70MM F2.8D. But these AF-D proponents will never post a pic of such a lens as they just will not accept the fact that there is no such thing.

You give up because there is no way for you to prove your pointless point!

I can add an AF-S 300mm F/4.0D and AF-S 500mm F/4.0D . There are quite a few of them out there.

It was common to see the "D" chip designation AFTER the aperture data on the lens with the advent of AF-I & AF-S lenses. Eventually it was dropped because all lenses offered the D chip so it was pretty much redundant lettering.

I consider that position a place holder on the lenses. The D was followed by the G which was unrelated to the distance chip. The G was replaced with a II which indicated the second iteration of the lens. Nikon never put VR II on anything as far as I know. Then came "E" for the electronic aperture. Not sure if that was replaced by a "P".
And the beat goes on.

Some members have been around here to help if we feel a need to!
IF THIS IS THE PARAGRAPH TO WHICH YOU ARE REFERRING:
"There are a couple of ways to signify a "D" lens: Nikon usually marks its lenses as "50mm f/1.4D AF" as opposed to "50mm f/1.4 AF-D," but it all means the same thing."
YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT KEN STONEGOOD ALSO SAYS THAT P MODE IS THE SAME THING AS PROFESSIONAL MODE.
Oh, BTW, D5, 5D; It all means the same thing......

I currently own a Nikon D5300. I am considering upgrading to a D7200 or D7500. My question is will my current lenses (Tamron 18-400 and Tamron 10-20 wide angle) fit on the new Nikon Z line. I also have the kit Nikkor lenses with my D5300.
Thanks!
You will need to purchase the Nikon F mount to new S series lens adapter in order to fit your current lenses to the new Z6/Z7 cameras. Purchasing it together with a Z6/Z7 will cut the cost of the adapter by about $100, I believe. My advice is to take a look at the projected S series lenses through to the middle of 2020 before choosing either Z camera. If the lens projected lens line up suits you that's fine. If not, go for the D7200 or D7500. Personally, I would go for a really good second hand D500.
Nikon has an AF/AE adaptor for F mount lenses released with the new line. Thereβs a good article/ad at B & H photo.
