Something odd occurring in Lightroom 6

I have stand alone Lightroom 6 and running Windows 10.
I have been merging 4 to 5 images in Lightroom 6 to get a HDR image. The HDR image was showing at the end of the 4 or 5 images picked for the merge. Now for some reason the HDR image is showing up at the very end of all of the images imported from the card. Stated another way, if I imported 200 images from my card and I merged images #4 to #8 instead of the HDR showing up as #9 it is showing up as image #201. The very end of all of the images imported.

Anybody got any ideas???

Thanks,

Don

Look at the sort order of the images, you probably have them in added order rather than capture time/date.

Have a look at 'Sort' drop down menu along the bottom of the library screen when in grid mode.
You may have unintentionally changed the sort mode.

If there an option for time, mine doesn't show date.

Or, maybe some new LR feature if you're on the subscription model.

Look too at which collection you're working in. Last imported, or the main catalog or some other collection?

Thanks for the assistance Paul and Rick but I have solved the problem, I think.
The merged images that are in the correct place in the grid view were showing "Custom" on the drop down sort menu. So I merged 5 more images and sure enough they went to the very end of the line. Put the images in grid view, dropped down the "sort" menu and the image showed "custom". Changed to "Date" in the sort menu and image then displayed in the proper place.

Thanks again for your assistance Paul & Rick.

I have, on numerous occasions, encountered a bug in LR when using HDR as well as when using plugins, where, at the completion of the operation, LR changes the sort order from "Capture Time" to "Custom Order." From the Library module, go to View, Sort Order and change it back to get your output file next to your input files.

That is where this was happening Dan, the HDR mode. Works fine for awhile then goes off and does it's own thing.

That happens to me sometimes when a send an image out to PS for editing. When it comes back to LR, sometimes it's with the original. And sometimes it's at the end. The same thing happens when working in PS. I've just learned to look there.
