Good to know. Thank you.

I have used these Quick Flips for decades and never had a problem even when running on a LaCrosse field covering a team in practice wearing a referee uniform getting swatted by some of the players by accident. Strapped my hand to the bracket's handle and never had equipment damage.

FYI the eBay item number for the bracket I bought is ( 222816481356 ). Just enter that number in the eBay search box for the ad by the Ontario, California source.

For some unknown reason, Canadian camera shops do not seem to carry adjustable Flash brackets - simple ones that allow the camera to be flipped from horizontal to vertical positions so that the flash light is always above the camera.

I think the Stroboframe Digital Pro-T Flash Bracket is what I'm looking for. It's about $75 from U.S. sources. Anyone tried this one with a Canon 6D MkII and Canon Flash (I have the 600EXII-RT and also a Profoto A1)? Just wondering if it's a good choice - don't want to spend a whole lot of cash.

Thanks.

We used brackets for a number of years shooting weddings and found, the heavy flash with batteries above the camera, made the whole unit too heavy and very unbalanced.
We started using the Lite-Scoop flash modifiers about 10 years ago, which weighs almost nothing, and still allows the flash to remain higher than the lens in both portrait and landscape modes. The added bonus is the soft light it produces for people pictures! Check them out!

Thanks for the info. I have a Profoto A1 as well as the Soft Bounce accessory which resembles the LiteGenius set up. However, when you shoot vertical, the unit sits off to one side. I want a setup that puts the flash directly above the lens in both vertical and horizontal.

That's why I'm suggesting the Lite-Scoop . . . it does exactly that!

Looking at the link you sent me, the light goes above the camera but left of the lens.

Actually I find that is better than the flat, directly at your face of a light bracket. I even more than not, use the flash head/scoop angled at about 45 degrees to create more modeling on the subject. It's more of an "off-camera" effect than straight on. Just my humble opinion of course.
