Currently have the Nikon L110 which for the most part takes great pics. Considering upgrading to newer/easier to use camera, considering staying with Nikon brand, but open to new brand but have not researched other brands. I take pics because when they turn out awesome, its fun. Get frustrated when results are blurry! Would like to sell mine and buy something for around $500. Need your suggestions and comments, also what is my L110 worth? Thanks all!

Not sure what your current camera would be worth, but for the new one, around $500, I would suggest the P510 if you are interested in a little larger "bridge" camera. Maybe keep the current one for more a of 'pocket' camera to always have along.

The P510 is a great camera to step up to. I considered it very strongly before deciding to go with the Canon SX40 mainly because of the more flexible LCD positions.

Hey Doc ..... if you want to stick with Nikon I second the P510, you'll have much more control compared to yours.

Because of the articulating LCD you also may want to take a look at the Canon SX40 .....

But also take a look at the new Panasonic DMC-FZ200 ..... articulating screen, electronic viewfinder that's way ahead of the competition, and a constant 2.8 aperture throughout the entire zoom range .....

You can probibly sell your L-110 bridge camera for around $150.00-$200.00, they were around $275.00 new. The Nikon P series cameras are good choise's, the P510 has a whooping 42X lens. If you want to go a little cheaper, the P-500 can be had for about $350.00, it has a 35X lens.

I concur. I'm excited about this camera. I've spent HOURS researching and comparing bridge, small SLR and mirrorless cameras these last couple of weeks, and have come to the conclusion that this is THE one to get if you have a limited budget. Besides that fabulous telephoto lens (24X, btw), it looks like it will do everything (RAW, HD video at 60fps, external stereo mic plug in, time-lapse recording with optional remote, 12 fps burst shooting, seamless panaorama shots, etc., etc.) -- and all for about $600. Lots of buzz about this new camera. I sold my Sony HX100V 2 weeks ago in order to get this camera, but it won't be out for at least another 2-3 weeks. I'm dying on the vine without a good camera!

Lumix sounds like a great camera, but $200+ more than the Nikon P510 with 42x and the Canon SX40 with 35x. SX40 has a software edit called CHDK that will allow you to save in RAW if that is an issue.

Personally, I would save the $200 if getting a bridge camera, otherwise get dSLR.

Hey Doc ..... the P510 has a half a@@ articulating LCD and No hot shoe ..... wake up nikon .....

Panasonic's constant 2.8 is gonna start a new trend and their view finder is supposed to be a improvement too. I'd take a good hard look at the Panasonic.

P510 has a 2-way TILTING screen (up or down only) but the SX40 swings out 180 degrees and then can swivel almost completely around. Can eliminate glare in MOST if not all conditions, plus it DOES have a hot shoe.
