I occasionally shoot events or fundraisers where I have to wear nice clothes (sport coat) and walk the room. Right now I carry a small LowePro backpack. This looks out of place, and I constantly hit people with it as I turn around. Plus - I use a Rapid Strap which tends to get mixed up with my backpack straps.
Any suggestions for a small satchel or messenger type bag (or other type) that looks good and doesn't scream photographer? Plus is easy to take on/off with the Rapid Strap.
I would typically carry a Canon 5Dlll and 3 lenses. (one is always on the camera) 16 to 35, 24 to 105, and 70 to 200 (2.8). Plus a spare battery, a flash (or two) and a Gary Fong collapsible light sphere. The bag wouldn't have to carry the camera and one lens that's on it. Just the lenses and stuff I'm not using.
Thanks.
I am currently looking to upgrade my camera bag. There are two that stand out above the others for me:
1) The Billingham Hadley line is very nice and comes in several sizes although they are pricy.
2) The Peak Messenger bag comes in two sizes and is very nice and not as pricy as the Billingham bags.
Check out these two product lines, don’t believe you will go wrong with either one.

Look at Holdfast Gear--expensive, but well built, and classy looking stuff.

Billingham Hadley, whichever size fits your gear best. Fine luggage that you can put your photo gear in.

Any good messenger bag will be fine. I still say "Get a Billingham" if you want to look like you shop at Brooks Brothers.

Billingham, I have a 335 and a couple of Hadleys, not cheap but look classy in a 30s canvas and leather sort of way.
I have a Shootsac lens bag that I use when I am shooting for a local paper. Works great for carrying lenses, my flash & other items. It comes with a cover attached by velcro. I don't use that, removed it and just use the bag.

Peake Design 10L. Sleek looking, well designed.
Hey Now,
Look at Fogg and Wotancraft. Nice looking bags.

Bellingham makes classy looking stuff. You can still find a Filson camera field bag with inserts on Amazon. I personally love Filson gear, but it is not for everyone. It is built to last decades and looks great. Unique. I have a smaller Domke canvas oil clothe style messenger bag that I use for my mirrorless. Much too small for a DSLR professional setup, but they used to make bigger styles and are cheaper than Bellingham. Look on B&H and Adorama, both have exceptional selections. I have to agree about Tenmba, they are great bags if you see one that matches your style, but are often fairly similar to LowePro. I own and love both for different situations.
