Anyone coming out to this event? Maybe we can get together at the field and do a "Meetup" there?
On the ground...early

It's too far and too early in the day. There is one in the northeast, but I've never been to that one, either. You should be able to get some great shots.
I hope I can come down this year from Farmington. It is an awesome sight to see AND hear :)

I'd avoid conversations, though. I hear there's a lot of hot air at these events.
My wife has a couple of sisters and a niece that live there. We are planning to go. Not sure if it'll be during the Fiesta yet or not. It might be right after.

Man, this is amazing! Wonderful shot! I am so jealous. I have a post going on some I took in WI. The sky was very uncooperative. And only 6 balloons. Crud, I have to go to a wedding that weekend.
Come on Jerry...miss sleep one morning..LOL

Was lucky enough to be working with a local company a few years ago that let us park our trailer in their parking lot which was right above the launch area. We sat in our lawn chairs outside our trailer to watch.
One of the more exciting things was the train wreck. There was a balloon that is a huge steam engine and it came down in the parking lot.
Here's some from this morning in Boise, ID. Alas they didn't get off their tethers today because of winds aloft. It will grow to about 40 by Saturday.
My wife and I are travelling to Albuquerque to visit her sisters, and to visit surrounding areas. We will actually arrive on Saturday, and so hopefully, we'll at least get to see the glow Sunday morning and the ascension. That's the plan, anyway.
