Has anybody information on replacing the multi controller button. Mine fell off and is lost. Can a replacement button be snapped on or do you have to take the camera apart?
Why not ask Canon Support?

You may have to replace the back of the camera. I broked my on canon 5d mark rs, it went to canon repair center they did the work. $120 for the part and $190 for labor,a 5day turnaround..Contact Canon Professional Services

I broke mine twice arrrrr early in the life of my 5DIII. I learned to be a lot more careful on how I store / protect my camera when traveling. This was my first EOS body with a joystick. Both times I sent the camera to Canon for repair at an embarrassing expense relative to the plastic part / process to replace. Probably anyone can repair, if they have access to the part. Try a few repair shops in the hope you can find someone to do it cheaper than Canon.
I see the comment about replacing the back of the camera. It's too many years ago for me to remember what happened, but it seemed like just the controller was replaced after removing (opening) the back of the camera rather than replacing a much larger part beyond the plastic part that is the joystick.
Wow, I learned that I better take care not to break mine off.
Just replaced joystick on 5d iii. Part was $7.25 on Amazon. Followed repair video on YouTube. Very easy and effective. I admit that I was very careful with the small screws. Less than an hour and saved a lot of money.
