Good photo. Didn't know CATS had a wye on the pass.
This weekend the C&TS is running a special charter freight sponsored by Trains magazine. This freight is commemorating the last D&RGW freight which ran 50 years ago. The engines used beck then were numbers 483 and 484. 484 is still operating but a stand in was needed for 483. 488 is masquerading as ’83 for the charter

I met a couple from the UK that are riding the special charter.
I heard the charter is sold out.
From what I've heard, the train will leave out this morning. Today, will be lots of photo ops and drive-by's.
Spend the night in Antonito and return on Sunday with more photo ops and drive-by's.
Also, I met a family from Oregon. the Dad is riding the train and the family is chasing the train as much as
the terrain and road access will allow.
For those not familiar with the train, this is a 64 mile one way trip.
Two tunnels, high trestles, deep gorge and lots of grand views!
Recommend, everyone to consider visiting/riding this very unique railroad!!
To Rich, I did not catch the number change with the 483....Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm watching on the cams, it's a sight that you won't see again for a long long time.
