Eliminating time-date stamps

I have a number of photos that have a camera created time-date stamp. I want to make prints of some of these and include others in a multimedia presentation. In both cases I do not want the stamp to be visable. Do you have any suggestions as to the best way to eliminate the stamps. I know I can use cloning, but I am hoping there is a quicker and easier way.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Cloning and/or content aware removal - both in Photoshop

I have occasionally left the time/date that I sometimes need for work related JPEGs turned on. It kills me, but the only solution I’ve found is clone stamping and smudging.

In Photoshop, use the Clone Stamp tool. You can google the steps.

Can you crop the photo enough to get rid of the date stamp?

Going forward, turn that option off. The information will be in the exif data that can be viewed in several different ways. Others have given you suggestions regarding the removal of those that exist. The quickest is to crop it out, but that won't work for too many images.

In photoshop, content aware cloning works very well for this type of task.

Yes, it’s easy yo turn off. But if you’ve mistakenly left it on after using it for some special purpose documentary work (as I might have done once or twice) you have to go to pixel editing and clone stamping, which can be laborious, depending on the image. That Murphy guy will dictate that one of the shots you left it on for will be a great one. There’s no Control Z.

Doing it once should cure this, but I’m living proof that mistakes are repeatable. 😉

In addition to clone stamp, the healing brush works in a similar way. The limitation is that it requires a solid area (or trees, bushes) as the background. Just wipe it from background to background across the date.
