Hello fellow Ugly Hedgehogers. I would like to know if I should stop waiting to upgrade my D810 for the D950 when it released? It looks like it's never going to happen now that Nikon has gone mirrorless.

That Nikon is going to exit the DSLR market after the recent mirrorless camera release is highly unlikely.

Where do you come up with the D950? The D850 was released a year ago and is the upgrade to the D810, and a huge upgrade at that.

Perhaps it sounds better than D851...

If you keep waiting for the next new thing, you will be waiting forever because there will always be something new coming.

The D850 is only 1 year old and many still couldn't get it. My Df is 4 years and 8 months old and yet I don't see any replacement coming.

Maybe that is it!
But since Nikon now has the new Expeed 6 processor in both their full frame mirrorless cameras the next "upgrade" will likely be the D860, D6, D760, etc.

That's unlikely. It almost assuredly will happen.

I know that the D850 is a great camera, but I'm sure that the D950 would be even greater. By the time the D950 is reIeased I would have even a greater GAS attack!

What performance difference is there between mirror lock up and mirrorless? I know the new cameras have some other features, but specific to the mirror I don't know what benefit the mirrorless camera has versus what I have with mirror lockup on?
