The demand is still sky high for these cameras and they are pretty much hand assembled so production is slower than assembly line cameras. The total shipments to the USA are now just below 40,000 units in 11 months time. There are SOME smaller local stores that don't rely on internet "pre-order" sales that actually have some in their stock inventory!

High demand and low supply. I found mine at Bedfords.com. They even had a bundle with an XPD card and reader included, plus free overnight shipping if you use a code that was on Facebook. Even if the website says “out of stock” they might still have some if you call. Amazon also shows more arriving at the end of August.

Sorry but they have been going to all stores since September 8, 2017. They are just selling faster than Nikon can make them.

Scroll down and you will find your D850, it's in stock at Kenmorecamera. It's a very good store, I use this place for almost all my purchases.

I may have misspoken, what I meant is that stores and now having them on the shelves in more quantity. at least in my area, I have noticed the camera stores in my area are showing them in stock now for the first time without needing to preorder them.

This is true, I have had them in inventory here for about a month now. But I only sell to my local customers, not internet sales.

I ordered mine from Amazon (Sold by Amazon) on 8/14 and got it yesterday 8/22.

Best buy, as of yesterday, said "order today to pick up in store tomorrow".

It seems like the big stores got big shipments. They keep pushing the available date up a day at a time, I think, because the stores can't process them quickly enough.

When I ordered on the 14th Amazon was showing available 8/31. Later I got an email moving delivery to 8/25 and eventually 8/22. In the meantime, the available date moved to 9/1.

Amazon is an authorized Nikon dealer. One just needs to make sure it says sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party.

B&H says 8/30. They don't typically give a date unless they have or expect to have stock.

Should be no problem getting one.

Nikon D850 are available in Canada. My lady friend bought one a month ago from a camera store in Kingston, Ont. They had procession of two D850s, at the time.

B&H is saying it will be available August 30th, that is six days away. I bet if you called them they will reserve one for you.

Try Cameta camera. I got mine in two weeks at the height of the demand curve.
